Finding your spot in this crazy world is no easy task. Now just to be clear on something, I'm not talking about careers or "callings." I was simply referring to the spot where you want to live. You know, that outstanding little suburb, beach or countryside that you're proud to call your home for all eternity. Hey, we all need a place like this at some point in our lives. Personally I think the only way to find it is by getting out there and doing some traveling when you're able. Explore every state our great nation has to offer, and find out which one tickles your fancy the most. Who knows; it could be California, New York, Texas, Ohio, Oregon, or New Mexico real estate that gets you all excited. These places are all different in some ways, but then again, so are people. So it works out just fine.
When I was in high school, I realized that one of my aunts lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For some reason I had never pondered this matter before. Oh, who am I kidding? I was just a teenager. Kids never care about anything but themselves. Anyway, since she lived out in this desert state, I thought it was high time I flew all the way from North Carolina to visit her. Upon arrival, I soon realized that New Mexico real estate was expensive. At least where my aunt was living. Apparently she and her husband were rich. It's probably sad that I didn't know this already, but again, it wasn't something I cared about back then since it didn't really concern me. Now, my impression of New Mexico was that it's hot as mad out there. It's quite different when you're coming from North Carolina. Although the Carolinas most definitely get hot in the summer time, like 100 degrees, New Mexico heat was dry. This was a shocker simply because I was so used to humidity. It was the polar opposite. Needless to say, New Mexico real estate is not for me. While I never really cared for the humidity, I don't love the dry heat either. I need a middle point.
| Quote of the Day |
Sweet are the thoughts that savour of content, The quiet mind is richer than a crown; Sweet are the nights in careless slumber spent, The poor estate scorns Fortunes angry frown. Such sweet content, such minds, such sleep, such bliss, Beggars enjoy, when princes oft do miss.
